There used to be a utility available named WinShade, by Blue Carpet Software. I used that utility quite a bit, and while it did not do near as much as AWM does, some of its functionality was very addictive.
The one feature of WinShade that I continue to really miss is the ability to right click on title bars to minimize windows. Once you get in the habit of doing this, I think you would find it much easier than using either the Task Bar button or the "minimize" caption button.
Yes, if a right click on a title bar minimizes the window, it means the system menu will not appear. But the system menu is still available on the Task Bar button, and in the usual place (i.e. when the application icon at the extreme left of the title bar is clicked).
Oh well, thanks for reading!
