Warren,
Please could you clarify - what "close alert dialog box" are you talking about? Do you mean this option or something else?

Alex,
The link you sent is not the dialog box to which I am referring. The one I am looking to disable pops up on the screen when one clicks "X" (upper right) in any open window in order to close an application. For example: If WORD is open and I want to close it, I click the red "X" (upper right) in the window. Instead of WORD closing forthwith, a box opens with the following message: "Are you sure you want to close the "xxx-Microsoft Word" window?" Choices Yes and No are on two respective buttons. If I choose Yes, WORD will close.
Does this make any better sense?

Alex,
I have discovered how to disable any specific window from closing accidentally. My question, therefore, is: Is there a way to globally disable all windows from closing accidentally?
Thank you.

Warren,
In most cases, these windows have the class #32770. Therefore you can create specific rule only for this class. But it will apply to any message boxes.
We'd recommend you to create for each application single rule. It'll relieve you from more serious problems.
