Application that disappear.
  • Windows Explorer
  • Outlook 2010
  • Winamp 5.59

I'm constantly having to repin these applications but haven't determined what causes them to unpin.  I'm thinking maybe reboots or something.  I'll post back if I notice a pattern.

Hello Jeremy,

I can not reproduce this problem with mantioned apps on my machine (Win7 x64).

Could you clarify what do you do to get the issue (step-by-step description)?

I'm having the exact same problem, except with Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. I think the fact that it's only those two is coincidental, since they're the applications I use most frequently on the second monitor.

After closing out of those applications, or switching which monitor they're on, they'll just randomly disappear. They don't do it every time, but they do it at least once daily.

Anyway, I figured I'd contribute.

It's strange, but I haven't had this problem since the day I originally created this thread.

This is starting to become a serious frustration, as it's happening almost every time I close out of an application on the second monitor. I have my icons set to large icons, and to always combine, hide labels. Nearly every time I close out of an application on the second monitor, the buttons disappear. This was a problem in the beta that I reported without a response, and it's continuing to be a problem now. I understand that the team is busy, but this was an expensive program and I would've appreciated a reply to my original topic before the official release.

Hello Arthur,

I can't reproduce the problem with Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

What apps have you pinned to the taskbar on the second monitor?

Could you give me a more detailed description of what are you doing to get this disappearing of taskbar icons?

I have Windows Explorer, Firefox, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger pinned. Each program disappears from the Taskbar at different intervals, usually when switching them to the other monitor or simply closing out of them. Sometimes they'll act like they're still pinned to the taskbar, so I have to hit the unpin option, and then pin them again, or they just act like they were never pinned in the first place. Perhaps it's a problem restricted to the specific version of Windows I'm running, or the specific configuration of the taskbar, because if you were to be having the problem, it'd be obviously seen from your end.
