probably started happening after the windows 10 fall update which i know has caused other issues with awm.
in any event at the moment when awm is running and not paused, computer performance is terrible.
more specifically, when trying to browse folders on local C drive is stupid slow, takes for ever to just open a folder. opening any application or just bringing an app to the foreground is severely slow.
almost not useable.... please fix asap.

I was unable to reproduce the problem with AWM 8.11.2 and Windows 10 fall creators update.
Could you name the exact number of your Windows build (type winver in the Search field of the Windows Start menu, press Enter. The Window containing the build number will appear).
Could you send us your AWM configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool (Configuration module > Tools > Configuration > Send to Tech Support)?
Does the problem depend on the "Group Explorer windows within tabbed containers" (Configuration module > Files and Folders > Tabbed Explorer > Group Explorer windows...)?
Are you running any security software (anti-virus, firewall etc.)? Could you try to temporarily disable it and see if the problem is still here?

removing antivirus didn't have any affect.
running win10 v1709 build 16299.19
config file attached (says invalid file type... not attached now) will try again after restarting app
as example, cpu runs around 50 -80% while awm is on, cannot type in this window without it stalling between types, hard to shut down awm, says not responding, ... after succesfully killling the process cpu now running at 15-30% and i can now finish typing without having stall between key presses.
i cannot seem to find what you are referring to "group explorer windows"

3 different methods... all epic fail.
1. see attached, this is what i get when trying to send from the app
2. when i try to attach the config on this forum doesn't work either.
3. email link on this site or private message there is no way to attach a file that i can see

Could you temporarily disable the Favorite Folders and Recent Folders features (Configuration module > Files and Folders > "Favorite Folders" and "Recent Folders" sections > "Via title button" option. See whether it solves the problem.
If it doesn't, could you provide your PC specifications?

tried for a while but eventually program "haulted" and taskbars froze again. keeping that functionality off for now.
