Actual Window Manager 4.0 is incorrectly handling double-clicks in the system tray. When the task bar is not active, double-clicks are interpreted as 2 single-clicks. The first activates the task bar and the second is sent to the system tray icon that was clicked. However, when the task bar is already active, double-clicks work fine. Does anybody else see the same conditions?

This issue isn't related to Actual Window Manager only, it's the feature of Windows itself. So we can't do anything about it.

That's too bad. I thought the problem was in Actual Window Manager because when I stop it, double-clicks work just fine. Only when I start Actual Window Manager, the problem appears.
Are you sure you can't do anything about it? Maybe you can write some additional code to intercept single-click messages in the task bar and change them to double-click messages when the condition is appropriate.

I have been investigating this issue further and have discovered the following: exact clicks work perfectly, no matter is AWM running or not and is taskbar focused or not.
Saying "exact clicks" I mean the precise, fast double-clicks without any, even subtle, mouse moving. At least, on my machine the situation is such as I have described above.
So please check again this issue accurately on your machine.

Hmm, I checked again, and it's mostly the same as I described before, but this time, I noticed some applications work properly even when AWM is running and the taskbar is not focused. Those applications are Skype, SaverNow, and the Local Internet Connection icon. AWM, system clock, Outlook 2003, Windows Live Messenger, and other less commonly known apps do not get the double-click message. Once again, everything works fine when AWM is stopped and this alone tells me that AWM is somehow interfering with click messages.

Well, thanks for the additional information. We will investigate this situation more deeply and try to find the cause.

I've noticed this same issue with Windows Minimizer 4.0.
Mainly the issue occurs with Outlook 2003.

Well, guys. I have checked this issue again and now can confirm that some applications work normally but some don't react as expected. But I think I have found some remedy.
Everyone who encounters the "tray double-click problem", please, try the following: go to the Control Panel, open the Mouse applet and alter there the "Double-click speed" parameter by moving the slider closer to the "Slow" label (four steps from the left were enough for me to get rid of unrecognized double-clicks totally).
Please report here your results. Thanks.

Hi Alexey,
I also encountered the "tray double-click problem", but had only noticed it as a problem with Outlook 2003. Your suggested solution seems to have fixed the problem for me. Thanks.
