There's been an issue across consecutive AWM versions (now using 8b3) where mouse scrolling inactive windows stops working. Well, sometimes it stops working, and other times, it works but prevents another mouse scrolling shortcut I use from working (Volumouse, for adjusting system volume). I'm guessing there's a conflict between the two.

For reference, my Volumouse shortcut is ALT-SHIFT-SCROLLING to adjust system volume up or down. AWM is set to scroll inactive windows without any other keyboard shortcuts.

I assumed the two scrolling shortcuts wouldn't conflict because Volumouse requires ALT-SHIFT modifiers to activate. However, it seems that AWM doesn't "care" that the modifiers are being held (and should then ignore the mouse scrolling so that Volumouse can have it) -- AWM still takes over the scrolling, preventing Volumouse from using it.

Is it possible to adjust AWM so that it "respects" keyboard modifiers in combination with mouse scrolling, and therefore, doesn't activate window scrolling when modifiers are being held?

It seems the conflict resolves if I set AWM to only scroll inactive windows when modifiers are being held. However, I really prefer having AWM scroll inactive windows without having to use any keyboard modifiers. If AWM could be set to ignore inactive scrolling when certain keyboard modifiers are being held (like ALT-SHIFT), I think that would allow both to work at the same time, and would be fantastic!

Thank you

Hi Steve,

The issue hidden in AWM's "logic".When you checked to scroll inactive windows without hotkey AWM scrolled it whether any hotkeys are pressed or not because the only command to "activate the scrolling" mouse wheel. The wheel was used so the AWM scrolled the window, no matter what key you use.

Currently I can suggest you to arrange a hotkey for scrolling. Also, would you like me to add your suggestion into our database as a feature request?

Any questions?Mail to support@actualtools.com!

Ah, ok, thanks for explaining.

I've set an additional shortcut in the meantime, but yes, I'd appreciate it as a feature request -- thanks. Should I start a thread in the feature request forum?

Hello Steve

You don't have to start a thread in the feature request forum, we'll consider your request.

Best regards.
